Night Zero falls into that category of sci-fi movie that doesn’t quite accomplish its goal of being a B-movie. There’s not really any fancy way that came to mind to review this film in an interesting way, largely because there was really little of interest. The two most noticeable feature about it were;
Aside from those two things the story is kind of dull, the characters largely unlikable and the novum unexplored. The intro to the film is so far from the following ninety-minutes that you have to wonder why it was there in the first place. In all honesty the audience would have been better off not knowing what was going on and just watching how six people, under the pretence of being friends, bitch moan and have an awful dinner party that gets disrupted as all hell breaks loose. In all fairness if I was invited to a ‘dinner party’ where the food was a plate of fucking crackers and some chips, I’d be just as maddened as the poor sods infected by the rage virus. That also doesn’t make any sense, The gas permeates your skin, best defence we have is this gas mask and some jackets, that’ll slow it down or stop it completely.
