What's under the hood
This has been nothing but a headache for me but one I feel is worth it. The default resolution makes the battles a bit squished so the extra dimensions of space really help give it a better feel. Yanfly, somewhere, suggested 1104*624 so that's what I changed it to. I'm not having to much of a hard time with the picture changes but the maps, especially the market place, needed revamping because they were very small. Given a conversation between two characters that occurs when the player first enters the town, I thought it best to expand the market district by creating the school they are discussing. I'm including another feature to the time system where the NPC Stephanie will only provide free ability or essence outside of school hours (9am-4pm), during those times she may either be absent from the game or in school with a couple of dialogue options. It's just another one of those world building mechanics that I'm a big fan off.

In truth, the state of my RPG MV database is shocking. Being someone whose tenacity overpowers their systemisation, I've gotten into a bit of a pickle keeping things straight with balancing. So after thinking about it I decided to create an excel sheet in order to bring some sort of order and balance. The end goal is to completely overlay the weapons ingame with the values from the excel sheet.
A decision I wish I had carried out before giving myself a release deadline of the 19th. Here's what it looks like, the download is here. (It's not perfect, or finished, but Excel is my least used office software and it's already after midnight and I've got work in the morning) |
