ADAM INCARNATE (TEASER) FADE IN: EXT. DESERT NEAR OASIS - DAY Two ancient armies are facing off against one another. Out steps a humongous man beating his chest and pumping his arms, it’s Goliath. NEW ANGLE - opposite side A weak looking shepherd begins to make his way through the ranks nervously fiddling with his sling. NEW ANGLE - From the other side of the Oasis Two men are standing facing away from the camera towards the battle on the other side of the oasis. One has flaxen hair and immaculately clean robes, the other brown, muddy hair. ADAM You think I can skim this rock over that? MICHAEL I thought you wanted to watch this war? ADAM They’ve been shouting at each other for half An hour. If I can hit one with a rock, they Might start fighting at last. MICHAEL Look there’s a small guy coming out. ADAM This is boring Michael. MICHAEL If you are bored, I assume your father is as Well. The two armies start jeering as David steps up and begins to talk to Goliath. ADAM I’m throwing it. Goliath begins to run forwards. David fumbles with the stone and the sling. Adam throws his rock. It skims once. David gets the stone in the sling. It skims twice. David begins to whirl the sling, Goliath still charges. It goes to skim a third time and bounces off a rock changing trajectory. David goes to throw his rock, it flies out behind him. He looks to the rampaging Goliath, the fear is in his eyes, he’s sweating. CAMERA: Rock point of view. The rock is in Adam’s hand. It travels in slow motion bouncing off the still water. Camera pauses momentarily on the ripples it causes. It bounces off the rock. Close up of a scorpion scurrying out. CAMERA: Motion speeds up until impact Rock flies and hits Goliath. He teeters, turns slowly to face Adam and Michael across the oasis. Then falls flat on the ground. ADAM (O.S) Whoops. Let’s go, quickly Michael. Armies are hushed. Adam hurries off, occasionally looking back at the commotion. Michael shakes his head and begins to follow at a more relaxed pace. After a few moments the army cheers. Pick David up on their shoulders and carry him off. FADE OUT END OF TEASER ACT ONE FADE IN: EXT: LONDON OFFICE - DAY SUBTITLE: 4000 years later Motorcyclist dressed in black leather and helmet pulls up and parks. Walks to entrance of office taking off helmet. She shakes her hair out. Walks into office lobby towards elevator. Other people in elevator move slightly away when she steps in. She comes out and heads to office manager’s room. He’s sitting behind desk, three pulitzer prizes are on windowsill. GRACE You have a new assignment. Where am I going? ROBERT Nowhere, you’re staying in London. GRACE Don’t give me that crap, send me to some action. ROBERT I heard there’s a big-time player in town. I need you to follow him. GRACE What kind of player? ROBERT Big-time. GRACE Drugs, trafficking, weapons. Give me a clue Robert. You know I don’t do urban. ROBERT I’m not sure what he’s doing. That’s why I called you in. GRACE Show me. Robert throws a file on the desk. She opens it, there’s a picture of Adam. GRACE He doesn’t look like a player. ROBERT Looks can be deceiving. Trust me. He’s a career maker. He turns and points to the pulitzers. ROBERT (CONT.) You want one of these. I guarantee You watch him long enough, you’ll get One. Grace looks at the prizes and then back at the picture. She picks it up. GRACE Where is he? FADE OUT.
